in the name of god amen the 9.11.1612 etc. I Jn Evans of Earls Colne in the county of Essex and diocese of London being sick in body but of perfect memory do ordain and make this my present testament declaring therein and hereby my last will and mind in manner and form following first I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god my creator with an assured trust and confidence of eternal life and salvation through the merit death and passion of jesus christ my saviour and redeemer and my body I will to be decently buried in christian burial within the churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid and for the ordering and disposing of that portion of worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased god of his goodness to bless me first I give and bequeath unto Joan Evans my wife my house wherein I now dwell with all the yard and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging during her natural life and after her decease to Constans my daughter to her heirs forever paying to my son Wm Evans within one whole year next after the decease of my said wife 5li of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath unto Joan Clere my daughter 12d of good and lawful money of England to be paid within one whole year next after the decease of my said wife item I give and bequeath unto Joan my now wife all my household stuff and movable goods of what kind and sort soever and I do make and ordain the said Joan my whole executor to see my debts paid and my body decently brought to the earth in witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand the day month and year first above mentioned and in the presence of whose names are here subscribed mark Jn Evans Hen Abott (may be Hen Abott) mark Chas Huntsman Jn Read
