the last will and testament of me Wm Long of Earls Colne in the county of Essex maltster as follows first I give and devise to my eldest son Wm when he shall attain the age of 21yrs for the term of his natural life all that my messuage or tenement with the malthouse barn stable and that part of the yard next Isaac Potter's as the same is divided and fenced out from the rest of the yard situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and are now in the occupation of myself and Jas Bullard and from and immediately after the decease of my said son Wm then to the first and all and every other the son and sons of my said son Wm lawfully to be begotten and the heirs of the body and bodies of all and every such son and sons lawfully issuing the elder of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing always to be preferred to take before the younger of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing in order and course one after another as they shall severally be in priority of birth and seniority of age and for want of such issue then to all and every the daughter and daughters of my said son Wm lawfully to be begotten and their heirs equally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and in default thereof then to my sons Jn Edw and Archilaus and their heirs equally as tenants in common as not as joint tenants also I give to my said son Jn when he shall attain the age of 21yrs for the term of his natural life all that messuage or tenement with appurtenances now in the occupation of Rich Chaplin situate and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and from and immediately after the decease of my said son Jn then to the first and all and every other the son and sons of my said son Jn lawfully issuing the elder of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing always to be preferred to take before the younger of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing in order and course one after another as they shall severally be in priority of birth and seniority of age and for want of such issue then to all and every the daughter and daughters of my said son Jn lawfully to be begotten and their heirs equally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and in default thereof then to my sons Wm Edw and Archilaus and their heirs equally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants also I give and devise to my son Edw when he shall attain to the age of 21yrs for the term of his natural life all that messuage or tenement with appurtenances now in the occupation of the widow Sweeten situate and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and from and immediately after the decease of my said son Edw then to the first and all and every other the son and sons of my said son Edw lawfully to be begotten and the heirs of the body and bodies of all and every such son and sons lawfully issuing the elder of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing always to be preferred to take before the younger of such sons and the heirs of his body issuing in order and course one after another as they shall severally be in priority of birth and seniority of age and for want of such issue then to all and every the daughter and daughters of my said son Edw lawfully to be begotten and their heirs equally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and in default thereof then to my sons Wm Jn and Archilaus and their heirs equally as tenants in common and not as joint tenants also I give and devise all my said messuages herein before mentioned to Mary my loving wife until my said sons Wm Jn and Edw shall severally attain their respective ages of 21yrs also I give and bequeath to my said son Edw the sum of 5li to be paid him by my executrix herein after named when he shall reach the age of 21yrs also I give and bequeath to my said son Archilaus the sum of 30li to be paid him by my said executrix when he shall attain the age of 21yrs also all my household goods plate linen ready money bills bonds and other securities for monies and all my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever after the payment of my just debts the aforesaid legacies my funeral and the charge of the probate of this my will I give and bequeath to my said wife Mary and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Mary sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking all former wills in witness whereof I the said Wm Long the testator have to this my last will and testament contained in two sheets of paper to the first of the said sheets set my hand and to this last sheet my hand and seal 17.7.1741 Wm Long signed sealed published and declared by the said Wm Long the testator to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who all subscribed our names in his presence and at his request Sarah Tweed mark Thos London Wm Carter
