memorandum that I Joseph Bott the elder of Coln Earles Earls Colne in the county of Essex clothier being weak in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be to god do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following hereby revoking all former wills by me made viz imprimis I give and bequeath unto Cath my loving wife and to her heirs forever all that my messuage or tenement situate in Coln aforesaid near to the sign of The White Lyon and now in the tenure or occupation of Jn Vince or his assigns and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging item I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Joseph Bott the sum of 250li of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executrix within eighteen months next after my decease item I give and bequeath unto my son Wm Bott the sum of 200li of good and lawful money of England to be paid him by my executrix within eighteen months next after my decease item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Bott and to her heirs forever all those my two tenements situate on Colford Hill in Coln aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of Wm Carter and Solomon Carter or their assigns with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging but my will is that my executrix and executor should receive all the rents and profits of the said two tenements before bequeathed to my daughter Sarah Bott until she shall accomplish the age of 21yrs for and towards the better education of my said daughter Sarah item I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Sarah Bott the sum of 150li of good and lawful money of England to be paid her by my executrix at the age of 21yrs but my will is that if any bad debts should happen from my decease before the payment of any of the abovesaid legacies that everyone with my executrix should bear an equal share of the same item all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever after all my just debts and abovesaid legacies are paid I give and bequeath unto Cath my said loving wife and to her heirs forever and lastly I do nominate and appoint my said loving wife and my said son Joseph Bott executrix and executor or this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 27.9.1743 Joseph Bott signed sealed published and declared by the testator in our presence and in his presence attested and subscribed by us the words and fifty being first interlined Sam Sparrow Wm Eglon mark Math Cook
