in the name of god amen I Oliver Johnson of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gent being aged and infirm in body but of a sound and perfect mind memory and understanding thanks be given to almighty god for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Abigail to and for her own proper use and behoof my best bed bedstead curtains valance bolster pillows sheets blankets quilt and appurtenances to the same and all other the furniture of my best chamber which shall be therein at the time of my decease also give and bequeath unto the said Abigail my loving wife to and for her own proper use and behoof all my plate and china item I give and bequeath unto my son Hen Johnson the sum of 20li of good and lawful money of Great Britain for the care and trouble he shall or may have in being my executor item after payment of my just debts legacies funeral charges and the probate of this my last will I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature sort or kind soever to be equally divided between my four children Rose Johnson the said Hen Johnson Joseph Johnson and Abigail Johnson share and share alike and lastly I do hereby nominate and constitute and appoint the said Hen Johnson sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and do hereby publish and declare this only to be my last will in witness whereof I the said Oliver Johnson have to this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this 31.8.1751 Oliver Johnson signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in his presence Thos King jun Wm Carter
