of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gent being aged and infirm in body but of a sound and perfect mind memory and understanding thanks be given to almighty god for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I give and bequeath unto my loving wife

to and for her own proper use and behoof my best bed bedstead curtains valance bolster pillows sheets blankets quilt and appurtenances to the same and all other the furniture of my best chamber which shall be therein at the time of my decease also give and bequeath unto the said

the sum of 20li of good and lawful money of Great Britain for the care and trouble he shall or may have in being my executor item after payment of my just debts legacies funeral charges and the probate of this my last will I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature sort or kind soever to be equally divided between my four children
