in the name of god amen! I Mary Shave of Earls Colne in the county of Essex widow do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I will order and direct that all my funeral charges just debts and all expenses attending the execution of this my will shall be paid and satisfied (by) my executors as soon as convenient after my decease and also that the 30li (residue of the 50li given to my daughter Eliz Shave by her late father's will) which hath not been paid to her by my executors out of my effects agreeable to such will and subject to the above mentioned payments I give and bequeath all and singular my goods chattels personal estate and effects of every kind which I shall die possessed of or in any manner of wise entitled to as followeth viz I give and bequeath my beaufet and bath stove standing and being in the parlour belonging to the house wherein I now dwell unto my son Jn Shave also I give and bequeath the sum of 10li of lawful money of Great Britain unto my said son Jn Shave also I give and bequeath the sum of 10li of lawful money of Great Britain unto my son Jn Shave ( Robt Shave ) to be paid them at the end of six calendar months after my decease also I give and bequeath the sum of 5li apiece to my two sons Jn Shave and Robt Shave upon special trust and confidence that they their executors or administrators do and shall pay the said sum of 5li apiece unto my granddaughter Eliz Butcher now living with me when and so soon as she shall have attained her respective age of twenty-one years all the rest and residue of my monies my me or owing to me upon notes bonds mortgages or any other securities not herein before by me disposed of I give and bequeath unto my four children viz Mary Wm Robt and Zachariah shares equally to be divided amongst them share and share alike to be paid to them by my executors at the end of six calendar months next after my decease also it is my express mind and will that all my household goods chattels plate linen and furniture not herein before by me otherways disposed of shall be sold by my executors with all convenient speed after my decease and the money arising from such sale I give and bequeath unto and amongst five of my children viz Mary Eliz Wm Robt and Zachariah equal shares alike and lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint my two sons the said Jn and Robt share executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time made and declaring this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Mary Shave have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22.10.1788 mark Mary Shave signed sealed published and declared by the testatrix Mary Shave as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto set out hands as witnesses Jas Mayhew Jn Mayhew Wm Burch
