whereas Wm London and Mary Bowman both of Coggeshall Magna in the county of Essex did propound their intentions of marriage unto several meetings of the people of god called quakers in Coggeshall Magna and Earls Colne in the aforesaid county and the meetings having made inquiry concerning them and finding them clear and free from all other persons and nothing appearing to hinder their said intentions of marriage the said meetings gave consent these are therefore to certify all whom it doth or may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions of marriage the said Wm London and Mary Bowman aforesaid did come into our public meeting house in Coggeshall Magna upon the 14.7.1687 and in a public assembly then and there met in our presence did signify their then taking each other in marriage pronouncing these words following with an audible voice viz the said Wm London taking the said Mary Bowman by the hand said friends you are my witnesses that I Wm London take this my friend Mary Bowman to be my wife promising by the assistance of the lord to be unto her a loving and faithful husband until the lord please to separate us by death then the said Mary Bowman taking the said Wm London by the hand said friends in the fear of the lord and among you his people I take this my friend Wm London to be my husband promising by the assistance of god to be unto him a faithful wife until the lord please to separate us by death Wm London Mary London Thos London Jas London Dan London Robt Ludgater Wm Ludgater Jn Rallett Robt Evens Susan London Martha Rallett Eliz Bowman Eliz Evens Sarah Ludgater Robt Yardly Jn Salmon Jn Glenn Thos Purcas Jn Fryitt Jn Day
