whereas Jn Drywood of Coggeshall Magna in the county of Essex webster and Judith Guyon of the same town and county aforesaid singlewoman did propound their intentions of marriage at two several meetings of the people of god called quakers in Coggeshall Magna and Earls Colne in the county aforesaid and the meetings having made inquiry concerning them and finding them clear and free from all other persons and nothing appearing to hinder their said intentions of marriage the said meetings gave their consent concerning the matter these are therefore to certify all persons whom it doth or may concern that for the full accomplishment of their said intentions of marriage the said Jn Drywood and Judith Guyon aforesaid did come into our public meeting house in Coggeshall Magna upon the 10.4.1687 and in a public assembly then and there met in our presence did signify there their taking each othe r in marriage pronouncing these words following or words to the like effect in an audible voice viz the said Jn Drywood taking the said Judith Guyon by the hand said friends ye are my witnesses this day that I Jn Drywood in the fear of the lord and in the presence of you his people do take this my friend Judith Guyon to be my wife and do promise to be unto her a loving and faithful husband until the lord please to separate us by death then the said Judith Guyon taking the said Jn Drywood by the hand said friends in the fear of the lord and in the presence of you his people I take Jn Drywood to be my husband promising to be unto him a loving and faithful wife until the lord please to separate us by death and for the better confirmation of this their said marriage the parties above named have hereunto first subscribed their own names and we who were then and there present are witnesses that they were so married Jn Drywood Judith Guyon Joseph Drywood Rich Pemberton Robt Ludgater sen Robt Ludgater jun Xoph Haukens Robt Evens Thos Purcas Simon Purcas Jn Ludgater Wm Ludgater Jn Friet Jn Stacei Jn Garrett Sarah Pemberton Mary Hawkins Eliz Guyon Ann Drywood Mary Purcas Rachel Drywood Eliz Evens Sarah Pemberton Hannah Friett Rich Pemberton jun Edw Mines
