In 1746 Rich Meredith White acknowledges to hold by free deed and the annual rent of 6s2d certain land called Cole Lands otherwise Colne Lands (since called Whitegates ) in Coggeshall Road
Does not appear to have been any acknowledgement of tenure in the rolls since this time but the free rent has been regularly paid by successive tenants
Miss White died recently - succeeded by - (in later hand) miss Eliza White married Capt Dean of Harwich whose widow she now is 27.9.1870 Ch. P
