whereas at this present court Robt Gylott as son and heir of Isabel Gylott lately deceased was admitted for himself and his heirs to one parcel of waste field of this manor containing in length 7rod and a half and in breadth to one head 7rod and to the other head 5rod lying in length between the kings highway leading from Colne towards Halstead on one part towards the north east and lands sometime of Thos Leppingwell on the other part towards the west with a certain cottage built thereon afterwards also to this court came the aforesaid Robt Gylott in person and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward part of the aforesaid cottage viz the hall room of the same said cottage and one lower room adjoining the same towards the eastern side of the same said cottage with two upper rooms viz one above the hall room and the other above the aforesaid chamber and part of the yardroom pertaining to the aforesaid cottage as it is now placed and divided and separated from the rest of the yardroom of the aforesaid cottage to the use and behoof of Joan now wife of Rich Kempe and the heirs of Joan herself forever to whom the same said Joan present here in court the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to herself and her heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rent of one capon annually to be delivered at the feast of xmas by apportionment between herself and the aforesaid Robt Gylott and by other customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine as is shown etc and made fealty and was admitted etc
