was admitted tenant of the lord among other things to one field or parcel of land called
Mellfield
as by a roll of the aforesaid court it is clearly shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid
Barth Hayward
after the last court and before this court viz
15.10.1630
surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of
Thos Courtman
instead of the bailiff in the presence of
Jn Fookes
and
Jn Reade
two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that piece or parcel of
Mellfield
as it is now divided containing by estimation 1a2r more or less being on the eastern edge or corner of the aforesaid field called
Mellfield
lying between the kings highway towards the south and a parcel of
Ashbredge Field
and
Lee Field
towards the north to the use and behoof of
Edw Allyston
of Hedingham Sible clothier and his heirs forever who present here in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid piece or parcel of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid

and his heirs forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rent of 2s3d to be paid at the usual feasts for payment within the aforesaid manor and by all other services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant and afterwards in the same court and the court sitting the aforesaid

came and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward the aforesaid piece or parcel of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of his last will and testament |
