whereas at a court here held 30.5.==== Math Stephens was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one piece parcel of a customary meadow containing 2r lying in Colne Meadow abutting a meadow belonging to the messuage called Curds (this partly illegible so description taken from abstract of court rolls) as by a roll of the aforesaid court it is shown now at this court it is shown by the aforesaid homage that the said Math Stephens after the last court viz 10.4.last before the date of this court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Cozen instead of the bailiff in the presence of Sam Burton and Robt Carter two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor the aforesaid parcel of meadow with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Thos Honywood knight his heirs and assigns forever to whom by Jn Read his deputy the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid piece or parcel of meadow with appurtenances to the aforesaid Thos Honywood his heirs and assigns for ever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and was admitted thereof tenant
