and furthermore whereas at a court here held 27.9.1639 Thos Wade was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs among other things to 5a of land more or less called Burtons as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that after the last court viz 3.11.1640 the aforesaid Thos Wade surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Brewer and Thos Harvey two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one piece or parcel of land called Burtons containing by estimation 1a1r with appurtenances now in the tenure of Thos Harvey of Tey Magna yeoman one head thereof abutting upon a parcel of land called Sonystay# now in the tenure of Wm Brewer of Lamberts towards the north and the other head thereof abutting upon lands of the said Wm Brewer towards the west and south to the use and behoof of Wm Brewer at The Crosse in the aforesaid Tey Magna yeoman his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid 1a1r of land more or less to the aforesaid Wm Brewer his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty and was admitted tenant
