and furthermore whereas at a court here held 21.4.1636 Thos Gill and Grace his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and the heirs of the said Thos to one cottage and garden with appurtenances called Sextens Tenement as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears and whereas at a court here held 27.12.1639 it was shown by the homage of the aforesaid court that the aforesaid Thos Gill and Grace Grace herself solely and secretly examined by the steward of the court as is the custom surrendered the aforesaid cottage and garden with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Robt Harrison of Alphamstone gentleman his heirs and assigns forever upon the condition that if the aforesaid Thos Gill and Grace his wife or either of them their executors or assigns or any of them should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Robt Harrison or his assigns 54li of legal money of England etc in or upon 8.9.1640 that then the aforesaid surrender should be void as by a court roll it appears now to this court came the aforesaid Robt Harrison and gave to the court information that the aforesaid 54li nor any parcel thereof had been paid according to the aforesaid condition whereof he humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid cottage and garden with appurtenances to the aforesaid Robt Harrison his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant saving anyone's right
