and furthermore whereas at a court here held 19.4.1620 Jn Foakes and Rose his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves for their lifetime and to the longer liver the remainder thereof to the rightful heirs of the said Rose to a certain customary meadow called Hipford Meadow and now called Round Meadow with appurtenances lying in Halstead and Sible Henningham or either of them as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now to this court came the aforesaid Jn Foakes and Rose and in full and open court Rose herself solely and secretly examined by the aforesaid steward as is the custom they surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward the aforesaid meadow with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Jn Foakes and Rose for their lifetime and to the longer liver and after their decease to the use of the rightful heirs of the said Jn Foakes forever to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid meadow with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn and Rose for their lifetime and to the longer liver the remainder thereof to the rightful heirs of the said Jn Foakes forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord for fines and made fealty
