and furthermore it is shown by the homage that Jn Allen after the last court viz 29.9.1646 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Church and Jn Brewer two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying one cottage and yard and pond with appurtenances situated at the upper end of the green in Earls Colne late of Rich Kempe and then in the tenure and occupation of Geo Hunwicke and Joan Kempe widow to the use and behoof of Jn Bowles and Kath his wife and the heirs of the said Jn Bowles forever and because no one came therefore proclamation was three times made that there was a precept to the bailiff of the manor to seize into the hands of the lord
