whereas at a court here held 1.6.last the aforesaid Mary Church was admitted tenant to the remainder of one field now divided into two parts called Tenn Acres and two parcels of land called Readinges and one croft called Stonebridge Croft when it shall occur after the decease of Rose Church widow as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Mary Church afterwards viz on the aforesaid 1.6. surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Johnson the lord's bailiff and in the presence of Edw Elliston gentleman and Robt Crowe two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying her aforesaid remainder to the aforesaid field called Tenn Acres two parcels of land called Readings and one croft of land called Stonebridge Croft with appurtenances by name all her customary lands tenements and inheritances with appurtenances held of the aforesaid manor to the use and intention of her last will and testament and that the aforesaid Mary Church made her testament and last will in writing bearing the date 17.5.last and that the tenor of which concerning the premises in the following english words item I give and bequeath to the said Ralph Josselin and his heirs forever all my reversion and reversions remainder and remainders right title and interest whatsoever I have or shall have or should have after the death of Rose my mother of in or unto all that copyhold land called Tenn Acres now divided into two crofts and all those my two crofts or parcels of land called Readings and one other croft called Stonebridge Croft or otherwise being copyhold of the said manor of Colne Priory upon condition that the said Ralph Josselin his heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto Jn the son of Jn Church of Earls Colne gentleman my kinsman the full sum of 100li of good and lawful english money within four years after the death of Rose Church my said mother if the said Jn shall then be of lawful age to give an acquittance or discharge for the same and my will and meaning is that if the said Jn Church shall die before he shall have and receive that receive the 100li before herein by me given unto him then I do give and bequeath the same to Barth Church his eldest brother to be paid unto him within four years next after the death of Rose my said mother so as he shall be of lawful age to give release or discharge for the same and afterwards and before this court the aforesaid Mary died thus seised thereof of the remainder of the aforesaid tenement and the aforesaid Rose is in full health upon which came here into court the aforesaid Ralph Josselin and brought here into court the aforesaid testament and last will under the seal of the ordinary signed and proved and humbly sought admittance to the premises according to the tenor and effect of the aforesaid testament to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid remainder of the aforesaid lands and tenements called Tenn Acres Readings and Stonebridge Croft to the aforesaid Ralph Josselin his heirs and assigns upon the conditions mentioned and specified in the aforesaid testament from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed when the remainder thereof should happen in his possession and he gave to the lord for a fine
