and afterwards in the same court the said Jas Day did come and in open court did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward the said croft of land with the appurtenances to the use of him the said Jas Day and of Grace his wife and of the heirs and assigns of the said Jas Day forever to which said Jas in his own person and to the said Grace by the hands of Giles Crow her attorney and deputy in that behalf the lord of the said manor by his steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said croft of land with the appurtenances to the same Jas Day and Grace his wife and to the heirs and assigns of the said Jas of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs formerly due and of right accustomed and they gave to the lord for a fine
