Bridge to The Bushett | whereas at a court held for the said manor 19.5.1619 Hugh Potter and Margt his wife customary tenants of the said manor in the right of the said Margt the said Margt being by Jn Stephens esq then steward of the said manor solely examined did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his said steward one croft of customary land called The Bushett containing 2a more or less lying by Broomefeild to the use of the said Margt for her life and after her decease to the use of Margt Bridge daughter of the said Hugh and Margt and the heirs of the body of the said Margt Bridge begotten and for default of such issue to the use of the right heirs of the said Margt Potter at which said court the said Margt Potter was thereupon admitted tenant for her life to the same now at this court it was presented by the homage that the said Margt Potter since the last court died and that the said Margt Bridge in the lifetime of the said Margt Potter died and that Wm Bridge is son and heir to the said Margt Bridge who being present in court humbly prayed to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said close of land with the appurtenances to the said Wm Bridge and to the heirs of his body of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due and he gave to the lord for his fine and did his fealty |
