Grace Abbott to a parcel of Tredgolds Fenn and 2a3r of meadow in Kemborne Meadow | to this court came Edw Hewson gentleman and Eliz his wife daughter and heir of Jn Lucas gentleman and Mary his wife deceased and late wife of Thos Ball senior deceased and the aforesaid Eliz first by the aforesaid steward solely and secretly examined as is the custom and consenting the aforesaid Edw and Eliz by the rod surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward one piece of land and aldergrove containing by estimation 4a more or less with appurtenances parcel of 10a of land called Tredgolds Fenn and lying between lands called Dagnall Hill on the northern part and the king's highway leading from Earls Colne to the common meadow there towards the south one head thereof abutting upon a meadow late of Jas Pennocke towards the west and 2a3r of meadow more or less lying in Kemborne Meadow in Earls Colne and 1a of land more or less late parcel of Tredgolds Fenn late parcels of the demesne lands of the aforesaid manor one head thereof abutting upon the king's highway aforesaid leading to the aforesaid common meadow towards the south and the other head abutting upon Curds Meadow towards the north and upon the rest of the aforesaid Tredgolds towards the east which premises the aforesaid Eliz previously took for herself and her heirs at this court after having recovery thereof among others to the use and behoof of Grace Abbot second daughter of Hen Abbot of Earls Colne saymaker and the heirs and assigns of the said Grace forever upon the good faith and trust however that if the aforesaid Hen should outlive Rose now his wife and the mother of the said Grace and if the aforesaid Rose should die without heirs of her body procreated by the said Hen that then the heirs of the said Grace should surrender all and singular the premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Hen his heirs and assigns forever upon which came here into court the aforesaid Grace by the aforesaid Hen her attorney in this part and deputy and sought admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the same said Grace by the hands of her attorney and aforesaid deputy the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Grace her heirs and assigns forever upon the trust and aforesaid good faith from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the separate rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord for a fine |
