at a court here held 31.12.1651 Jas Day miller was admitted to him and his heirs to one croft of customary land lying at Colneford Hill late Jn Bridge now at this court it appeared to the homage that the said Jas Day before this court died and that Jas Day citizen and haberdasher of London is his son and heir and after it appeared to the homage that 27.5.1682 the said Jas Day the son surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Eldred steward of the manor etc all his customary lands tenements and hereditaments held of the manor aforesaid by copy of court roll to the sole use of Grace Day mother of the aforesaid Jas for and during the term of her life and after her decease to the use of the said Jas Day the son and his assigns forever and upon this the said Grace Day present in court humbly petitioned admittance to whom the steward delivered seisin thereof to have and to hold the said croft of land to the said Grace Day and her assigns for the term of her life to remain after her decease as appears in the surrender aforesaid of the lord etc and gave the lord for fine 10s for her admittance aforesaid 4li10s the residue of the fine respited until the death or surrender of the said Grace Day and fealty was respited etc
