in the village of the said Earls Colne viz between the garden called
Lophams
on the south and the kings highway there on the north one head thereof abutting upon the highway there on the east and the other head thereof abutting upon the said
Windmillhill
on the west now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said
Edw Clemens
out of court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of
Wm Catte
instead of the bailiff in the presence of
Robt Rooks
senior and
Peter Gilotte
customary tenants of this manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of
Margery Clarke
widow now wife of the said
Edw Clemens
and her assigns for and during the whole of the natural lifetime of
Margery
herself who the same said

now present in court sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to whom the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof to have to the same

herself to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine as is shown in the margin fealty was respited and she was admitted tenant of the lord thereof
