(very poor roll) whereas at a court here held monday in the week of =.6.1603 Jn Gillson was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to a tenement or cottage in as much as it joins a certain capital messuage called Masons lying in the cemetery of the said Colne a parcel of the said tenement called Masons containing in length 16ft6i and in breadth 17ft according as by copy of a certain court roll hereafter of the court now here brought and clearly and fully shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said Jn Gillson out of this court and after the last court surrendered the said premises with appurtenances into the hands of Wm Catte instead of the bailiff in the presence of Thos Turner and Jn Hatch two customary tenants of this manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of Thos Sandesonne junior his heirs and assigns forever to whom the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof to have to the same Thos Sandesonne junior his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and he made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
