was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one croft or enclosed pasture containing 8a of land more or less and one croft or close of arable land containing 4a more or less and one meadow containing about 2a of land etc parcel of certain lands and meadows called
Bridgemans
as it lies in the said Earls Colne as by copy of a roll of that court in this court is produced and shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that the said
Robt Reade
out of this court and after the last court namely
26.6.1609
surrendered the said premises with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of
Wm Catte
instead of the bailiff in the presence of
Jn Gremarde
and
Robt Rookes
senior customary tenants and of this manor the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of
Thos Prior
and
Agnes
his wife and the heirs of
Agnes
herself forever upon the condition however that if the said
Thos
and
Agnes
their heirs executors or assigns should pay or cause to be paid or either of them should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid
Robt Reade
his heirs executors or assigns the sum of 180li in the following manner and form viz upon the feast of the apostles simon and jude then next following the date of the said surrender the sum of 100li and the other 80li of the said sum being the remainder etc upon
the feast of michaelmas which will be in the year of our lord 1610
then the said surrender in all its force should remain with effect otherwise should be completely in vain and null and void in law upon which now to this court came the said
Thos Prior

his wife and sought thereof admittance for themselves to whom the lord by his said steward granted and seisin thereof to have to the same said

and the heirs of

herself forever upon the said conditions to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine as is shown in the margin and the said
