at a court held 2.10.1607 Jn Humphrie was admitted for the term of the life of Robt Crowe to a cottage or customary tenement with appurtenances late built on the waste of the lord which waste contains 20p of land lying at Colne Park between the highway to the east and the said park to the west one head abuts on the way aforesaid now at this court it appears to the homage that since the last court and before this Jn Humphrie surrendered to the lord by the hands of Ezaie Bemie instead of the bailiff in the presence of Edw Catte and Wm Catte the same witnessing the said messuage now in the occupation of Jn Brewer (may be Jn Brewer) to the use of Thos Prentice and his assigns for the term of the life of the said Robt Crowe and the said Thos now present in the court asked to be admitted and for certain causes moving his admission was respited
