Jn Cooke to the use of Susan his wife cottage on Colne Greenitem it is shown by the homage that Wm Cawche customary tenant of this manor who held for himself and his heirs from the lord illegible text etc one cottage with a parcel of land sometime of the waste of this manor situated on Colne Greene as by copy of a roll of this court here held the saturday in easter week 39Eliz1 here in this same court produced and clearly shown after the last court surrendered the cottage and said parcel of land with appurtenances into the hands of the lord of this manor by the hands of Robt Crowe and Barth Clarke illegible text tenants of the said manor according to the custom of the said manor to the use and behoof of Susan wife of Jn Cooke and sister of the said Wm and her assigns illegible text for the term of her natural life and after her decease the remainder thereof to the use and behoof of Jeremy Cooke Anna Cooke Susan Cooke and Mary Cooke children of the said Jn and Susan their heirs and assigns forever upon which to this same court came the said Jn Cooke and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the said premises to the use and behoof of the aforesaid Susan his wife to whom the lord of the manor by the said steward granted thereof seisin to him to have and to hold the said premises with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the aforesaid Susan his wife for and during her natural lifetime and after her decease then the remainder thereof as shown to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents of 12d annually at the usual times and other services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
