whereas at a court here held thursday following easter being 9.4.1618 Jn Pryor was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs by Thos Pryor his father and attorney to one messuage sometime of Jn Humfrye lying in the said Earls Colne by the surrender of Nich Peirce and Alice his wife and Thos Smythe and Joan his wife as by a roll of a certain court fully binding and certain now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn died after the last court seised in his demesne as of fee of the said messuage with appurtenances and that Thos Pryor is his brother and next heir of the aforesaid Jn and should have the right to the said premises now to this court came the aforesaid Thos Pryor being of the age of 15yrs and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the said premises to whom the lord by his steward granted to him seisin thereof to have to him and his heirs from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine and fealty was respited until etc and also to this court came Thos Pryor father of the said Thos and sought that custody of the body of his said son and the premises should be committed to him and during the minority of his son and it was granted to him and thereupon the said Thos the father gave to the lord his fine (rest illegible)
