Wards | it is shown as is mentioned above by the homage that Robt Rookes before this court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jas Nicholl instead of the bailiff in the presence of Barth Clarke and Jn Clarke two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor one parcel of land containing by estimation about 20p sometime of Simon Ward now in the occupation of Sam Tyler shoemaker to the use and behoof of Susanna Bridge wife of Wm Bridge of Wortham Suffolk yeoman and the heirs of the aforesaid Susanna forever upon which now to this court came the aforesaid Susanna by Jas Nichol in the role of her deputy and sought admittance to the premises according to the said surrender to whom the same said Susanna by the aforesaid deputy the lord by his said steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have for herself the aforesaid Susanna and her heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and the aforesaid Susanna gave to the lord her fine as is shown etc and was admitted thereof etc but her fealty was respited etc |
