surrender in mortgage to Wm Nevill gentleman Lowfields and Bromecrofts | it is shown also by the homage that Edw Cressener gentleman out of court namely 14.1.1625 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Parker bailiff in the presence of Robt Crowe and Thos Smyth two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the said manor one croft of land late divided into two parts containing by estimation 8a of land with appurtenances parcel of the demesne lands of this manor lying in a field called Lowfield below Chiffins next to the conduit and three crofts of land called Bromecrofte lying in the said Earls Colne parcel of the demesne lands of this manor to the use and behoof of Wm Nevill of Chappell alias Pontesbright gentleman his heirs and assigns upon this condition however that if the aforesaid Edw Cressener his heirs executors administrators or assigns well and truly should fulfil satisfy and pay or cause to be satisfied and paid to the aforesaid Wm Nevill his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of 30li in or at the now dwelling house of Nich Nevill gentleman father of the aforesaid Wm upon or before 15.1.1626 without deceit or further delay that then this present should be void and null in law otherwise it should stand in full force |
