fine 25sat this court it was shown by the homage that Thos Prentice who held one cottage with appurtenances built on the lord's waste and situated on the waste near Rushpit and Colne Park in Earls Colne to himself and his assigns for himself and his assigns for his lifetime by the lord's grant the reversion thereunto or residue belongs to the lord after the last court and before this court viz 21.5.1632 he surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Read instead of the bailiff in the presence of Edw Potter and Steph Champney junior two customary tenants of the said manor according to the custom of the said manor the said cottage with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Jn Wade and his heirs who here present in court humbly seeks admittance to whom the lord by his said steward granted seisin thereof by the rod and afterwards the lord present in court by his grace and the humble petition of the said Jn Wade granted the said cottage with appurtenances from his hands to the said Jn Wade his heirs and assigns forever at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor and by his said steward delivered him seisin by the rod to have the said cottage with appurtenances to the said Jn Wade his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by fealty due to the court for three weeks within three weeks and by the rent of 4d per annum to be paid at the said manor house at the usual feasts and he gave the lord his fine and did fealty and was admitted tenant thereunto
