at this court it was shown by the homage that Edw Rosse gentleman and Rose his wife customary tenants of this manor in right of his wife Rose after the last court that is on 11.6.1633 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Grange instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Church and Edw Potter two customary tenants of the said manor according to the custom of the said manor one messuage or tenement 26a of land 3a of pasture and 1r of meadow called Curds and also three crofts of land about 15a called Barmanfields Rounses and Pellesland lying in Barmansfield to the use of the said Rose for the term of her life and after her decease to the use of Higham Sayer esq and his heirs forever except for certain rights in respect of a plea at that time specifically instituted so far as the examination of the said Rose as it is the custom he who is admitted to the premises to be respited and saving the right of each
