and furthermore at a court here held 20.7.1631 Roger Harlakenden gentleman second son of Rich Harlakenden esq then lord of the said manor was admitted tenant of the lord to himself and his heirs by a grant from the said lord to about 10a of land parcel of Lowfeild according as it is divided by a hedge and ditch from 6a of land parcel of the said lands called Lowfield which 6a of land lie on the south part of the said 10a of land according as it is clearly shown by the said court roll now at this court it is shown by the homage that after the last general court and before this court viz 12.3.1635 the said Roger Harlakenden surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Crow instead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Nevill and Barth Clarke two customary tenants of the said manor the said 10a of land and other premises with appurtenances under the description of two closes called Lowfield containing about 10a according as it is now divided to the use and behoof of Agnes Spooner wife of Edw Spooner for the term of her life and after her death to the use of Edw Spooner son and heir apparent of the said Edw and Agnes and the heirs and assigns of the said Edw Spooner junior forever and the same Agnes and Edw her son being present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have the said closes or parcels of land and other premises with appurtenances to the said Agnes for her lifetime the remainder thereof after her death to Edw Spooner junior and his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty etc
