whereas at a view of frankpledge with court baron here held 9.4.1618 Eliz now wife of Xoph Aldridge and Joan now wife of Wm Newton were admitted tenants of the lord for themselves and their heirs to one parcel of the lords waste parcel of Windmill Hill containing about 1r upon which was built one cottage now divided into two according as is shown by the said court roll now at this court came here into court the said Xoph Aldridge and Eliz his wife and the said Wm Newton and Joan his wife Eliz and Joan themselves solely and secretly examined by the steward as is the custom and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward the said cottage and piece of land with garden with appurtenances to the use and behoof of the said Xoph and Eliz and their heirs forever to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and piece of land with appurtenances to the said Xoph and Eliz and their heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty and were admitted tenants thereof
