and furthermore at this court it is shown by the homage that Lance Prior customary tenant of the said manor after the last court viz 4.8.1646 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Smith (may be Wm Smith) instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Jn Reade and Barth Clarke two customary tenants of the said manor testifying one piece or parcel of a yard containing in length from a certain ash tree to the street 3rod and a half and in breadth from the said ash tree to the pathway 1rod and a quarter with a cottage built thereon parcel of a tenement called Pannells to the use and behoof of Robt Prior and Margt his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Robt Prior forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the lord to have and to hold the said piece of yard with cottage built to the said Robt Prior and Margt and the heirs of the said Robt Prior from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the customs of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they gave to the lord their fine and made fealty
