and furthermore it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Barth Clarke customary tenant of the said manor after the last court viz 28.2.1648 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Sexton instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Carter and Jn Reade two customary tenants of the said manor testifying etc all that part of the messuage called Mordens now in the tenure and occupation of the said Wm Sexten or his assigns and all that part of the yard as it is divided by the footpath adjoining the messuage and yard of Edw Potter to the use and behoof of Eliz Dowe wife of Hen Dowe and the heirs and assigns of the said Eliz forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the said steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said part of the said messuage and yard with appurtenances to the said Eliz Dowe her heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord her fine
