and further it was presented by the homage that the said Hen Feild and Beatrix his wife since the last court that is to say upon 14.10.1650 aforesaid did come before the said Jn Joscelyn steward of the said manor and the said Beatrix being solely and secretly examined by the said steward and consenting did according to the custom of the said manor surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of the said steward all their moiety part and purparture of the said fourth part of the said meadow with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of such person and persons and for such estate and estates as the said Geo Cressner and his heirs shall nominate limit and appoint and until such nomination and appointment to the use of the said Geo Cressner and his heirs whereupon at this court the said Geo Cressner did come in his own person and by a writing under his hand and seal bearing the date this instant 30.12. showed forth in court did nominate limit and appoint Thos Harlakenden gentleman and his heirs to be the person and persons to whose use the said several surrenders of the premises should be and that the said surrender of the premises should be to the only use and behoof of the said Thos Harlakenden his heirs and assigns forever and thereupon the said Thos Harlakenden being present in court humbly prayed to be admitted to the said fourth part of the said meadow with the appurtenances to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said fourth part of the said meadow with the appurtenances to the said Thos Harlakenden his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs formerly due and of right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and did his fealty
