at this court it was shown by the homage that Edw Browne customary tenant of the manor after the last court viz 2.4.1668 surrendered into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Jn Bagshaw instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Wm Adams and Jas Prior two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying etc one customary messuage and one backside containing by estimation 6p with the buildings and structures pertaining to the said messuage late Rich Walker and then in the tenure of Nath King to the use and behoof of Robt Wade of Earls Colne his heirs and assigns forever which premises the said Edw Browne took for himself and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 12.7.1664 upon which came into court the said Robt Wade and sought admittance as tenant of the lord of the premises to whom the lord of the said manor by the said steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the said premises with appurtenances to the said Robt Wade his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine
