at a court held 28.10.1678 Grace Kettle wife of Jn Kettle was admitted to one messuage or cottage with appurtenances called Humphreys and also to one messuage or tenement called Bayleys late two cottages now at this court it appeared and on the oath of the steward that 2.7.1681 the said Jn Kettle and Grace his wife she solely and secretly examined and consenting surrendered all her customary lands held of the manor now in the several occupations of Geo Peartree Rich Clitter Esdras Peartree and Jn Fell to the use of Geo Toller of Earls Colne gentleman who was admitted and gave fine etc and fealty was respited
