Earls Colne Jn Payne cornleader inquisition Jn Mason whereas at a court with view here held on the tuesday in pentecost week 25.5.18Edw3 Jn Stace inquisition(inserted) came and surrendered into the hands of the lord a certain plot of land at Colford Hell to the use of Jn Denham and Joan his wife and their heirs and the lord granted and gave the aforesaid plot as divided by the metes and bounds illegible text(inserted) to the aforesaid Jn Denham and Joan his wife to hold to them and their heirs from the lord by the services and customs item it was granted by the lord to Hen Stepvene chaplain now Jn Payn cornleader(inserted) a certain gateway called postern out of his garden as far as into a field called Lowefeld returning thereof per annum 1d etc and the guardian of the house there is protected from damage or loss by reason of the gate etc item inquisition(inserted) Simon Smyth came and surrendered one plot of land built on with a certain curtilage to Jeff Whyrle and his heirs and the lord granted etc to hold to himself and his heirs from the lord by the services and customs etc item Olive le Taylor Jn Mason (inserted) came and surrendered into the hands of the lord one cottage lying between a messuage of Adam Juldayn and Wm Lytel to the use of Rich son of the said Olive and his heirs to hold etc by the services and customs etc item Jn Bruce came and surrendered into the hands of the lord one messuage with curtilage and appurtenances in the market place to the use of Rich le Mason a nd Christine his wife to hold etc by the services and customs item Rich le Mason and Christine his wife came and took from the lord one plot of land with one house built on it lying between a messuage of the said Rich to hold to themselves and their heirs etc by the services etc
