it appears to the homage that Wm Gawge seised together with Thos Brett and Alice his wife Nich More Jn Kentishe Wm Patche and Robt Byeston deceased to the use of the aforesaid Thos Brett who is now dead to one purpresture of land once Kath Prudman and after Wm Oldhall and one cartway parcel of the Tollehowse now in fact a ditch once Jn Mendham and the aforesaid Wm Gawge of the premises was sole seised to the use of the last will of the aforesaid Thos Brett here in court plainly shown who after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Roger Hichecocke tenant of the lord in the presence of Jn Reynold also tenant of the lord witnessing the aforesaid purpresture of land and a ditch with appurtenances to the use of Mary his sister now the wife of Jn Freman and the heirs of the body of the said Mary legitimately procreated and for default of living heirs of the body of the aforesaid Mary to remain to Jn Sparrowe and Lewis Williams executors of the will of the aforesaid Thos Brett to sell and the monies arising to dispose of according to the last will of the aforesaid Thos Brett now here at this court came the aforesaid Mary and petitioned admittance and she was admitted tenant of the lord by the steward who delivered seisin to hold to herself and the heirs of her body legitimately procreated in form aforesaid of the lord by the rod etc fine 4d fealty
