to this court came Jn Leffingwell of Earls Colne and in full court brought forth a certain acquittance made by one Thos Waller son and heir of Thos Waller late of Earls Colne aforesaid deceased for the discharge of a certain reentry into one tenement in Colne aforesaid customary late from the foresaid Thos Waller the father sold to the foresaid Jn Leffingwell as in the leet with the court here holden on friday next after the feast of st james the apostle in the 32Hen8 30.7.1540 more at large appears the tenor whereof followeth in these words be it know that I Thos Waller son and heir of Thos Waller late of Earls Colne deceased have received and had of Jn Leffingwell the younger of Colne aforesaid 33s4d sterling in the full payment of 20li for the sale of a certain tenement and lands set and lying in the said town as more plainly doth appear in a pair of indentures thereof made between the said Thos my father and the said Jn bearing date the last day of may 31.5.32Hen8 in witness whereof I the said Thos to these presents set my seal the 3.12.1Edw6 by the grace of god of England France and Ireland king defender of the faith and next unto god supreme head of the church of England and Ireland Lewis Jegon and Adam Polley being witnesses
