Pychards Xfine 5s whereas at the last court the bailiff was charged to seize into the lord's hands one croft of land called Pychards because that Ann Ashefield widow late the wife of Edm Ashefield gentleman deceased sister and next heir of one Jn Wingfield deceased the last tenant of the said croft of land called Pychards showed not the copies what right she entered and occupied the said croft of land with the appurtenances after the death of the said Jn Wingfield her brother deceased to this court came the foresaid Ann Ashefield widow and in the full court brought forth a certain copy bearing date on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 13Hen7 5.6.1498 by which it appears that one Jn James and Wm Hawk surrendered into the lord's hands the foresaid croft of land with the appurtenances to the use and behoof of Rich Lightfoote and Joan his wife Nich Moore and Walt Tedder his heirs and assigns and hereupon the foresaid Ann being present in the court came and craved to be admitted to the foresaid croft of land as sister and next heir of the foresaid Jn Wingfield deceased and because the court it certified by the homage that the foresaid Jn Wyngefield in his life took and received to his proper use and commodity the issues and profits of the foresaid croft of land with the appurtenances therefore the lord of his special favour granted out of his hands to the foresaid Ann the foresaid croft of land with the appurtenances to hold to her her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod etc to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to her her heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc by services before accustomed and she giveth fine as well for herself as for her brother the foresaid Jn Wingfield because he paid it not in his lifetime as appears etc and made fealty
