cottage Carters Xfine 16d it is found by the homage that Helen Ruffle widow late the wife of Jn Ruffle deceased who held to her and her assigns during the term of her life of the lord as of this manor by the rod etc one cottage with the appurtenances called Carters sometime Jn Carter's after Wm Elbies and late Jn Reynold's as etc to remain after her decease to Wm and Xoph Ruffle sons of the foresaid Jn and Eliz and Margt daughters of the foresaid Jn and their heirs as in the leet with the court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in the 3Edw6 11.6.1549 more at large appeareth the foresaid Helen died since the last court of such estate seised and they say that the foresaid Wm likewise is deceased and hereupon to this court came the said Xoph Eliz and Margt and craved to be admitted to the foresaid cottage with the appurtenances according to the tenor form and effect of the remainder aforesaid and because it is so found by the homage therefore they are admitted the lord's tenants thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to them their heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and they give fine etc and made fealty
