fine 40s | it is found and certified as well by Thos Gent esq chief steward of the manor aforesaid as by the homage that on 24.11.9Eliz1 there came before the said steward one Rich Rolte son and heir of Thos Rolte deceased and surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of the said steward one croft or pasture enclosed containing in it 8a of land or more or less and one croft or close of arable land containing 4a or more of less and one meadow containing 2a of land or more or less now in the tenure or occupation of Jn Finche the assignee of Thos Bredge and Albone Bredge and parcel of certain lands and tenements called Bredgemans as they lie within the foresaid manor in the town of Earls Colne to the use and behoof of Robt Reade his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and prayed to be admitted thereto to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor and by the rents and services therefore due and of right accustomed and he giveth fine etc and made fealty and is admitted the lord's tenant |
