fine etc | it is found by the homage that Thos Allen that held to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod etc one cellar called The Taverne with a sollar builded upon the same and one shop with the appurtenances as they are situate and lying in Colne aforesaid between the maypole and the church gate out of the court and since the last court surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of Jn Churche instead of the bailiff in the presence of Hen Smythe and Jn Warde the lord's customary tenants and other the same witnessing all the premises to the use and behoof of Robt Allen his heirs and assigns on condition following viz that if the foresaid Thos Allen his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid Robt Allen 4li of good and lawful money of England in the tenement aforesaid viz at xmas.next 40s that then this present surrender shall be void and of no force but if there be default in the payment aforesaid then if the foresaid Robt Allen shall pay the foresaid 4li to the foresaid Thos Allen this surrender shall be in all his force and effect |
