whereas at the leet with court here holden on tuesday in the week of pentecost in 1PhM 4.6.1555 Jn Leffingwell and Alice his wife were admitted the lord's tenants to them and the heirs of the same Jn to a customary tenement with appurtenances late Jn Hay in Colne aforesaid as by the roll of the same court more at last appeareth etc and whereas also at the leet with court here holden on saturday being 9.6.35Eliz1 it was presented by the homage of that court that before the same court the foresaid Jn Leffingwell did surrender the foresaid tenement with appurtenances to the lord's hands by the hands of Jn Tiffin instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Church and Robt Reade two customary tenants of the same witnessing according to the custom of the manor aforesaid to the use and behoof of his last will and testament the tenor whereof concerning the same followeth in these words viz I will that my customary tenement wherein one Rich Clarke now dwelleth shall be sold by my executrix or her assigns within three years next after my decease to pay my debts as by the same testament shown here in court under the seal of the ordinary of the same place appeareth etc now it is found by the homage aforesaid that since the last court and out of this court the aforesaid Alice the executrix of the last will and testament of the said Jn Leffingwell her husband deceased did surrender the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances into the lord's hands by the hands of Jn Church instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Greene and Thos Leffingwell two customa ry tenants of this manor the same witnessing according to the custom of the manor aforesaid to the use and behoof of Robt Warren and his heirs forever to which Robt here present in the court there is seisin of the premises delivered to have and to hold to him and his heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor aforesaid by the rents services and customs therefore due and of right accustomed and he made fine and fealty and was admitted the lord's tenant and afterwards sitting the court came the aforesaid Alice Leffingwell in her full widowhood being and in the full court remised and released all her title and interest of and in the premises to the premises to the foresaid Robt Warren and his heirs so that neither the foresaid Alice nor her heirs may hereafter claim or challenge any title interest or demand thereof but are fully barred and excluded from all action and claim thereof
