answer of Jeff Chadwick of Halstead husbandman aged about 50years examined the day abovesaid first says he knows the complainant and the defendants and had known the complainant for 20years and mr Harlakenden about 12years and Math Everard and wife Mary and Xoph Sibthorpe about 6years second says he knows the hop ground Chiffing in Earls Colne and that it contains 8a and somewhat more and says he has known it about eight or 9years third says that Xoph Sibthorpe told him that Edw Sibthorpe had made him Xoph as authority to take out of the profits of the hop ground the sum of 40li and for the residue he should make account till Edw Sibthorpe did come again more touching the interrogatory he cannot depose fourth fifth sixth and seventh cannot say eighth says that he heard Stammer say whilst that he was bailiff to Xoph of the hop ground that whensoever he Edw Sibthorpe should come over from beyond the seas his brother Xoph being satisfied and Stammer's charges borne and answered that Edw Sibthorpe was to have his hop ground again and that he was but bailiff of him and more he cannot say ninth says that the hop ground by the space of these six years last past was worth 100li a year or more all charges born and says that he having the charges of the hop ground 1year within the said 6years the profits thereof was worth 125li all charges borne more he cannot depose mark Jeff Chadwick
