inhabitants of the parish of Earls Colne do send greeting whereas
Mary Poynter
late of the parish of St Andrews Holborn Middx widow in and by her last will and testament in writing bearing date
17.11.1733
did give and bequeath unto the overseers of the poor of the parish of Earls Colne aforesaid the sum of 300li to be laid out by them as soon as might be after her death in the purchase of lands of inheritance and she did declare her will to be that the rents and profits of the said lands when purchased and the interest of the said sum of 300li till the sum should be laid out in the purchase of an estate in land should be yearly distributed by the overseers of the poor of the said parish for the time being from time to time in such proportions as they should think proper to and amongst such poor person or persons who are inhabitants of the said parish and who do not receive alms from the said parish and of her said will appointed sir

pay into the hands of the said

200li in part of and towards the discharge of the said legacy which has been since laid out at interest whereas the said sir

hath on the day of the date hereof pursuant to an order of vestry made this day paid unto us the sum of 100li being the remaining part and in full of the said legacy of sum of 300li now know ye that we the said
