in the name of god amen 30.9.1572 I Joan Turner of Earls Colne in the diocese of London widow being of perfect remembrance do ordain and make this my testament and last will in manner following first I bequeath my soul unto almighty god my body to be buried in christian burial item I will that my tenement wherein I now dwell called Syners in Earls Colne aforesaid with the appurtenances shall be sold by mine executor hereunder named and the money thereof coming I will shall be divided among my children hereunder named and others that is to say to Edw Payne (may be Edw Payne) my son in law 20s to every of my son Edw's children 3s4d and the rest of the money of the sale thereof to be equally parted and divided among my four children that is to say Edw Thos Christpram and Agnes item I give unto the said Edw my son half a dozen of silver spoons item I will that all other my household stuff and implements of household as brass pewter bedding linen and such other like furniture of household shall be and remain to and amongst my three children viz Thos Christpram and Agnes equally amongst them to be divided item I give unto Thos Sampson my son in law 5li out of the 7li10s which he the said Thos oweth unto me and I give to my daughter Jane his wife 6s8d all the rest of my goods debts whatsoever which shall remain my debt being paid and all other the charges of this my presents paid and allowed shall remain amongst all my children equally to be divided also I do ordain and make the said Edw Turner my son executor of this my present testament he to receive and pay my debts and to see this my present will performed these being witnesses Thos Bridge Thos Crispe and Wm Vigorouse scrivener
