in the name of god amen I Hen Kettell of Earls Colne in the county of Essex and in the diocese of London being sick in body but perfect and whole in mind laud and praise be to almighty god do make and ordain my testament containing therein my last will in manner and form following first I commit my soul to almighty god the father the son and the holy ghost and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne imprimis I give to Agnes my wife and Mary my daughter my half crop of corn to be equally divided betwixt them and out of Mary's part so much to be taken as will bring my body honestly to the ground also I give to my daughter Mary a bullock a brass pot to be delivered unto her within 1m next after my departure also I give to Agnes my wife my house during her natural life and after her death to be sold by Jn my son and the money to be equally divided between my four children Jn Kettell Geo Kettell Andrew Kettell and Mary Kettell also I give to Agnes my wife two beasts and all my other movable goods to use and occupy during her natural life and after her death to be equally divided between my four children Jn Kettell Geo Kettell Andrew Kettell and Mary Kettell I give to my son Jn and my son Andrew my mare to be equally divided betwixt them all the rest of my goods my debts paid and my body honestly brought to the ground I give to Agnes my wife whom I make my only and sole executrix to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have put my hand and seal the 28.3.1593 mark Hen Kettell sealed and delivered in the presence of us Wm Adhams Franc Hamptonn
