in the name of god amen the 19.4.1606 etc. I Eliz Stephens of White Colne in the county of Essex widow being sick in body but of perfect mind and remembrance thanks be given to god do make and ordain this my testament containing therein my last will in manner and form following that is to say first I commit my soul to almighty god my creator and maker and to jesus christ my only redeemer and to the holy ghost my sanctifier and preserver and my body to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried by mine executor in the church or churchyard of White Colne aforesaid imprimis I give to Thos Smith my son 12d of lawful english money to be paid unto him within one quarter of one year after my decease all the rest of my goods movables my lease of my farm and all other goods and chattels whatsoever my debts paid and my body honestly brought to the ground I give and bequeath to Wm Smith my son whom I make my executor to this my last will and testament revoking all other wills heretofore made and he to dispose and give to the rest of my children at his discretion the rest of my goods which shall remain my debts being paid in witness whereof I have put my hand and seal the day and year first above written mark Eliz Stephens sealed and delivered in the presence of us Wm Adhams cleric by me Franc Hampton
